Jason Porplyzia: Apart from having a great nickname, "The Porpoise" will at potency to a sometimes predictable and inconsistent attack. After missing most of 2010 and all of 2011 through injury, for the Crows it will be like having a new player.
Taylor Walker: Although upstaged by Bernie Vince last week, the man with two surnames leads the Crows for indiscretions and eccentricity both on and off the field. You never know what he'll do next.
Questions to ask Adelaide supporters:
- Aren't you glad you got Brendan McCartney as head coach not (insert name of struggling first year coach)?
- How bad are Port Adelaide?
Question not to ask:
- Is the best thing about going to interstate games leaving Adelaide?
- Are you more or less racist than Matthew Rendell?
Prediction: It can never be said that a side that makes the finals is undeserving to be there, but Adelaide this year may come close. They play last years bottom two twice as well as newcomers GWS, and only play one of last years top four on two occasions. Pretty much the only way to get a better draw would be to select it yourself. That said, they have an improving list with no glaring deficiencies, only a slight query in the backline, and if Patrick Dangerfield (not relation to Rodney) can string some games together, some real speed through the midfield for the first time in a while. Evidenced by their NAB Cup win, the Crows will be out to make a fast start this year, and in a season where there is very little between teams in the middle of the ladder, it might make the difference. 7-11th
