Essential information
Coach: Brendon McCartney (1st season)
2011 season: 9 wins, 13 losses (10th overall)
Player changes
In: Luke Dahlhaus, Tory Dickson, Matthew Panos, Daniel Pearce, Fletcher Roberts, Clay Smith, Michael Talia
Out: Barry Hall, Josh Hill, Ben Hudson, Sam Reid, Jayden Schofield, Brennan Stack, Callan Ward
Players to watch
Jarryd Grant: Dubbed 'spindle shanks' on account of his skinny frame, Grant is a player who has to improve his game. In the absence of Barry Hall the Bulldogs need to find a new key forward, and Grant has shown the potential at times to be that player
Lukas Markovic: Mature-aged recruit who debuted last season has proclaimed that he wants to be the next 'Presti'. Has similar physical attributes, but does he have the temperament to record more spoils than possessions each game? One to leave out of your Supercoach side.

Questions to ask Western Bulldogs supporters:
- You really got done over by Gold Coast and GWS recruiters didn't you?
- Do you think Brain Lake can get his mojo back?
Questions not to ask:
- How did Adam Cooney ever win a Brownlow?
- What's wrong with being called Footscray?
Prediction: The Bulldogs have an oddly composed list. Most of their players are either vastly experienced veterans in the latter stages of their careers, or new recruits in the first or second season. There's not much in between, which can cause massive problems, as shown last year when the veterans didn't perform well. Furthermore, the Bulldogs also have to find a way to fill the 60+ goal gap caused by Barry Hall's retirement, so essentially they are in the same position that they were in before the recruited Hall, except that their good players are a number of years older. New coach Brendon McCartney will do well to achieve a similar result to the 2011 season. 11-14th
